Thurs, Nov 2: Deja vu all over again

Because of my trip to Beijing tomorrow, I once again am going to have to pack up all my stuff and check out of my hotel room tomorrow morning. I think be the end of my trip, I am going to be really, REALLY happy not to have to pack and unpack again! I was planning to leave work a bit early, but get caught up researching packages to Hong Kong and don't leave until after 7pm. If I am able to get a package for the price listed on the Dragon Air website, it will be about $300 cheaper than buying air and hotel separately. That is a lot for 3 nights!

I decide I can't have italian for dinner AGAIN, so I break down and have my first dinner at the hotel. I order a burger, and am thinking about also ordering the french onion soup since the burger doesn't say it comes with fries, but I am glad I don't. When the burger arrives it is massive! I would say at least half a pound, on a huge butter-grilled bun, and topped with cheese, bacon, and a poached egg. Egg? I know, I think it is really strange, too. The worst thing is that this is a poached egg where the yolk is still liquid, so when it breaks it runs all over the plate, and gets all over the bun when I set the burger down. This is one messy meal! It also came with a huge portion of fries that were nicely spiced, and a salad that I didn't even touch. This would have definitely been enough food for two. I make a nice dent in the sandwich, but am unable to finish anything, and waddle back up to my room stuffed.

The rest of the evening is spent unpacking everything I had stashed in my luggage, sorting, then repacking everything. The whole process took around an hour and a half. I am getting a bit quicker. I pack a bunch of my cool weather clothes since the temperatures are supposed to start with 62F/41F on Saturday down to 50F/36F on Monday, but I hope it doesn't fool me and warm up. I didn't bring many warm weather options.

I finish off the night with another episode of The Simpsons, then plan to get up early tomorrow to get all the luggage transferred out of my room and both over to the office and to the front desk, then get to work on time.
